Life-changing experience

Orthodontic treatment can be undertaken at any age nowadays and it is no longer a treatment for young children. The number of adult patients seeking treatment is growing every year. Recent studies suggest that orthodontics is not only beneficial for the overall health of your masticatory system and the jaw joints, but it can also improve self-confidence through the life changing benefits of complex orthodontic treatments.

F.A.Q.

Is it painful?

Everyone is unique. You can expect a level of soreness which will be different for each individual and which is depending on your treatment type. In the vast majority of cases, it will go away in a few hours/ goes away with regular painkillers.

What care is in place if I have a problem?

We always offer appointments to see patients as soon as possible in case of emergencies. Your care is important for us and we are always on hand to give advice and help you resolve the problem efficiently.

Is it difficult to clean braces?

No, it is not difficult. You will have to adapt your brushing technique and spend a little more time on it. When we fit the braces, all our patients are given a “Starter Kit” which includes all the things you need for your oral hygiene during the orthodontic treatment. Our team will then give you personalised instructions on how to use the kit.

Am I a good candidate for the Invisalign treatment?

Any patient can be an Invisalign patient. Nevertheless, we believe that it is important to have a clear treatment objective from the very start of your orthodontic journey. Together with our specialist orthodontists you will decide what the best method to accomplish your goals will be: braces or Invisalign.

How will braces affect my day to day routine?

The orthodontic treatment will not change your daily routine. Your speech will not be affected but you need to consider that it may alter your food choices and you may want to carry a small oral hygiene kit with you at all times.

Having orthodontic treatment will change the appearance of my face?

No, fixed braces or aligners will not change the appearance of your face. There are other types of complementary orthodontic treatments (orthognathic surgery) that, in combination with braces, might change your facial appearance if that is one of your treatment goals.

How can I pay for my treatment?

Once you have decided to start treatment, our Treatment Coordinator will be in touch with you and will talk you through the various financial packages we can offer you.

Braces

Traditional braces is what most people imagine when they hear the word orthodontics/orthodontic treatment. Braces (metal or clear) are fixed appliances attached to the outside surface of the teeth. With the continuous advancement in technology, they have become smaller and more comfortable over the years. The braces are connected through an arch-wire, which gradually moves your teeth into the desired position.

In most circumstances, for adult patients, we can use clear, porcelain brackets, which makes the treatment more discrete. At the start of your treatment, you will be able to decide together with our orthodontists what is the best type of fixed orthodontic appliance to use for your specific treatment.

Lingual Appliances.jpg

Lingual Appliances

Lingual Appliances work in the same way as the traditional orthodontic appliances (secured on the outside of your teeth) however they are placed behind the teeth, on the inside. This ensures complete discretion and can give you the confidence to carry on with your day to day life, all while knowing that your appliance is hard at work.

Our lingual appliances are bespoke and manufactured in Germany using the very latest CAD-CAM (Computer-aided design and manufacturing) technology. However, these appliances do come with their limitations and may not be suitable for complex cases.

Clear Aligners.jpg

Clear Aligners

Invisalign is a modern option that is becoming more and more popular among patients.

The appliance is removable and uses clear aligners to straighten your teeth. The treatment consists of a series of custom-made, digitally designed plastic trays, that are all slightly different and are meant to be changed periodically. The changes in each aligner is what slowly moves your teeth into their desired position over time.

Invisalign appliances are suitable for patients of all ages and for a wide severity of cases. During the initial stages of treatment planning with us we will be able to inform you if Invisalign is a suitable treatment option for you.

Retainers.jpg

Post Orthodontic Care

At e-LINE, we believe that retention is one of the most important parts of your treatment journey. We work to actively monitor your treatment results and we offer our patients post orthodontic care for at least twelve to twenty-four months after the finish of the active orthodontic treatment phase. This is to ensure a life-long result.

Retainers will help you maintain the desired outcome of your treatment. They come in two forms, either fixed (a metal wire bonded on the inside surface of your teeth) or removable (to wear at night).
