In Focus: Fiona Finds

As a lifelong lover of fashion, interiors and textiles; our patient Fiona Dreesmann branched out into the world of homes in 2016, curating some of the most beautifully curated collectibles. Seamlessly moving from fashion to homewares, her passion for the home has been borne out of her love for collecting interesting items and keepsakes from her travels. Fiona Finds has a by appointment showroom in Chelsea.

Tell us all about Fiona Finds?

Fiona Finds is exactly as the name suggests – beautiful items and ever-changing collections to reflect seasonal changes and to ensure our clients are always kept on point. My style icons are Mario Buatta, Marella Agnelli and Catherine The Great! Apparently, she was an early adopter of fascinating collectibles who sent scouts ahead of her around the globe to bring their bounty back to Mother Russia!

My tastes span the globe, where I eke out pottery and plates from the lesser-known vendors, to the old-fashioned style glamour of entertaining in the mountains where bone handle shoehorns and Murano glass are a staple, to traditional English with fine bone hand painted china.

What inspired you to start Fiona Finds?

After a 2-year sabbatical I found myself a little bored. I have always been a person that loves to work. My friends were always asking where I found interior objects and so I decided to put a small collection together and have a home sale. I was sold out in 24 hours. From there, I held 3 sales a year and started working on bespoke projects before opening my showroom which now runs by appointment and showcases exclusive items. We also have a website with most of our items available to shop online.

What is your background?

From an early age I have always enjoyed working in retail and my first job was with Joseph who was a wonderful teacher. In particular his eye for detail on the shop floor always inspired me. I have worked across many spectrums in retail but mostly with luxury goods ranging from fashion and jewellery to, more recently, a slipper business I founded and then sold.

What great advice would you give our readers about finding something great for their home?

Be brave and bold and follow your own style rather than trends. I always believe in buying the quality you can afford as it will always last much longer. Personally, I am not a great one for ‘tat and gimmicks’. Do mix and match but most importantly buy things that you love.

What can people expect when they use Fiona Finds?

Excellent service and an unusual mix of items. Gift wrapping is free of charge and orders can be delivered within 2 hours in Central London. I think we go the extra mile to make sure that nothing is a problem.
